![]() Last evening I was working the closing shift. It's always a challenge to plan a meal that can be done ahead, but yet reheated for my husband. So I rummaged through my file and came up with barbecue turkey burgers. It is yet another item from my Gourmet Magazine collection (recipe by Lauren Holden Mead), vintage September 1996. It's not a complicated recipe and I had all the ingredients on hand, including ground turkey from Wegmans. It's an interesting recipe, as need to make a quick barbecue sauce that's added to the raw meat. This addition made for very flavorful burgers. The barbecue sauce is also brushed on during grill and topped on the burgers after cooking.
As I was cooking these burgers outside on my grill, a snow squall was passing through. As I'm standing with my spatula in hand, snowflakes are swirling by and thinking how some summertime corn would go great with this meal. Ah...until July! By the way, there is a cole slaw recipe that goes along with this recipe, however, I didn't make it. The cole slaw recipe did great some great reviews. Something else for me to try. Index
