As our son had to work on Father's Day, tonight he treated my husband and I to dinner this evening at Brandl Restaurant in Belmar. My husband and I have been here many times before and, as usual, had a most wonderful dinner. To start off our meal we had "The Brandl," which is fresh burrata cheese and roasted grapes as an accompaniment. My son also selected for the table the lobster pop tart, which was creamy lobster filling inside a phyllo pastry....yum!
For the main course both myself and my son's girlfriend chose the Thai style shrimp scampi over forbidden sticky rice, my husband had braised pork served with wild mushrooms over pappardelle pasta with truffle au jus and our son had grilled filet mignon atop garlic mashed potatoes, haricot verts and Bernaise sauce. All of our entrees were scrumptious. To complete our meal two of us had the key lime pie, one hot chocolate donuts and the other had the sea salt caramel creme brulee. It was a wonderful dinner with wonderful company. (Photo is Thai style shrimp scampi over forbidden sticky rice) Index
