It's quite chilly this morning at the Jersey shore. What better way to warm up your kitchen than with a quick and easy supper today. Another go to meal for me is Shepherd's Pie. Wegmans in Ocean Township carries Colmans of Norwich Shepherd's Pie seasoning mix along with several other seasoning mixes.
Although the ingredient list is done in metrics, here's what you need:
1 pound of ground beef (450g = .99208 pounds)
1 large onion, diced
2 carrots, sliced (I use frozen peas and carrots)
1-1/4 cups water (300ml = 1.27 ounces) - I use 1 cup of water and find that creates enough of a sauce
1-1/2 pounds potatoes (700g = 1.54 pounds)
200°C = 392°F (I bake at 375°F)
Start by preparing your mashed potatoes. While those are cooking, you can prepare the meat filling. By the time your done with the filling, your potatoes should be ready for mashing. Enjoy!
